The official journal of the European Union has published the European Data Protection regulations on May 4, 2016, which will be in effect from May 25, 2016 and will be mandatory and applied directly to all Member States as of 25th may 2018
The Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, related to the protection of individuals regarding the processing of personal data and on the free circulation of these repeal the Directive 95/46/CE.
Its application will be compulsory as of May 25, 2018, and during this time it will be necessary for all companies and organizations to carry out an adaptation process.
The objectives of the new Regulation are to support the protection of privacy of individuals with the increase in the use of information and communication technologies, effected either commercially, administratively or social.
